So simple yet so elegant. Also notice with the color how it is not a true color. It is off-color. That was the effect throughout the entire book and it was really a nice touch to the graphic novel.

It was a little confusing because through the entire novel they kept referring to each other as G and F and it got a little confusing during some parts as to who was who but it was quite easy to pick again.

This is a definite checker-outer (if that is a word) and a HOT OFF THE PRESS.

But this book is definitely for older readers as there is some bad language and some sexual topics. But that was like 5 pages in a 200 page book so really minimal.

Also I read this book, wait for it, in 25 minutes flat. That is my all time record. Admittedly,  it was all pictures.

So go and purchase it here for your “i” stuff or go to your local book store/local library or shop around online.

Review

This was a very….interesting movie. It was rated PG but this movie is about 30 years old and I would say it definitely was not PG. It was more like PG-13. The movie was not scary when you compare it to todays standards, but it did have its moments which were definitely not  PG moments. There was a scene where The Beast made one of the ghost hunters hallucinate that something really gruesome was happening to his face and it was creepy. It would not be considered that to todays standards but the rest of the movie was so harmless that it was not expected and made you jump.

Then there was the clown. Don’t get me started on the clown. I hated clowns to start with but this just did it.The clown was there and then it wasn’t. I HATE clowns. Except Bello and Grandma.

But I hate these clowns.

Never have and never will.

This is a definite movie to watch as it is a classic (along with Nightmare on Elm Street (not seen that yet )) but I would definitely wait until you are at least 13 years of age to see this one. Just for a few reasons.

A lot of thought and planning goes into the cover of books, and somewhere an artist does what they do and create something magical. Have you noticed how the covers often give you clue about the story? Capture a bit of the flavor of the book? Or, don’t you stop and look? Maybe you will look at your books a little differently now. I hope that you enjoy these posts and look forward to more in the future.

Here is the cover of Graveling, a recently read and reviewed book. I just wanted to say a few thing about the cover of this book by Kristin Cashore. I thought that the cover was quite interesting. It is so simple, yet it is intriguing.

The cover depicts a dagger in the center with the reflection of a girls face (well, we have to assume that it is the main character Katsa). But then in the background it is a creme, parchment paper look with a blue layer on top. Then you have some red flowers at the bottom of the cover and some flowers at the top of the cover too. Atmospheric…..

I know that this cover may not seem interesting to some, but when you hold this book, it seems to reflect back at you and you have a different view of it. The cover looks interesting, and the dagger seems almost 3D. When my librarian Omar gave me this book to me to read I was instantly intrigued because of the cover.

So, yes, I do judge books by their cover, but only in a positive way.
