Review
Well. This was an interesting movie, to say the least. Definitely full of testosterone – a complete guy movie. It was rated R and it went with the rating. There was constant swearing and a lot of violence and blood. Most of the blood really was not realistic, but there was a lot of it. The swearing was constantly going on (what do you expect when you get a bunch of BIG guys and stick them together in stressful situations.)
Stallone did direct, write, and star in this movie, and I was impressed. It was quite well done. It did have a good story, good actors, good acting, great action and fight sequences, most of it was realistic, and it was extremely funny.
You would not expect a movie like this to be funny, but I was constantly laughing as there were references to the characters that the actors played in other movies, and just jokes going on all the time.
I would say that this is a movie for 16 year olds and over because of the violence and swearing. There really was nothing sexual in it, except maybe a few brief references.
There were a lot of explosions and a lot of people dying. There was also a big character death which changed the entire course of the movie. You really did not expect it.
I also do like the music in it. The soundtrack is one thing which I do love about movies, and will frequently listen to if it was worth it. This one is not in the same caliber as Avengers and Tron, but it was still quite enjoyable to listen to and well done.
I do recommend seeing it if you are interested in this type of movie as it was well done. It is not on my top 10 list but it was still enjoyable.
And yes there will be a third one, or so Stallone said. I didn’t see Expendables 1, but maybe one day when I have some time to kill I will. I don’t think seeing the first movie is needed to understand this one

Review
Yup, that summary just about covers the entire movie. That was technically what the entire movie was about. But it was absolutely terrifying. There was a lot of blood and it was extremely gruesome. It was R so it does fit its rating. This is definitely not a movie for people under the age of 15/16. Also if you are squeamish with blood don’t watch it, and the same with spiders. I hate spiders and I didn’t remember then in the book and there was a huge sections with spiders, and now I am even more scared. The blood in this movie was not terribly realistic but when you are captured in the movie it does not make a difference.
I had to watch this on a Macbook computer screen because I was so scared I would not be able to make it. I made it through the movie, but I think I am now regretting it. I dream about it now. I am fine reading it, but this movie was just really creepy.
The ending was also really terribly sad. I cried and I was depressed a few days after the movie.
It does stay quite close to the book, but there are a few things which are different, like the ending and a few other moments.
There is no sex in this movie or romance of any sort. But there is a lot of cursing. Many 4 letter words were used, but I may have been doing the same thing in their situation. It was really realistic.
It was a really well done movie and it was acted really well but do be careful.

Unfortunately, the story moves a bit slowly and the acting by Kristen Stewart (Snow White) and Chris Hemsworth (Huntsman) is rather stoical and passionless and lacks chemistry, though Charlize Theron does stand out as a particularly disturbing Ravenna.

Review
Well, if you want the classic story of Snow White, this really is not it. But if you want the plot of Snow White with a little bit of Hollywood mixed in, then this is the movie for you.
It follows Snow White’s story with a bit of extra, umph, put into it.
I thought Kristen was a very good actor to put as Snow White. She played the part quite well and I was impressed as I feel that this character fit her well. I thought she was going to be too, Kristen Stewart, and she did have a few of those moments, but otherwise she was really good. Chris was a good part as the Huntsman as he was this big, burly guy, who was a little unsure. He acted the part of the Huntsman really well. They also let him keep his natural accent which was really great. Charlize I also thought played her role well. I had never heard of her and when I first saw her in the first scene she was in, I was skeptical that it would work. She is an extremely beautiful actress and I just felt it was not going to work at all. But when the time came for her to be evil, she was really good. She has one of those types of faces that can be extremely gentle and the next can make you cower with fear.
The CGI’s were also really good. My favorite part of the entire movie was in the Sanctuary. The colors were vibrant and it was just so beautiful. I thought that that was the best but you have to see it to see for yourselves.
The movie did have many good moments with the acting and the CGI’s, but it also did have some bad moments. The ending was really weak in my opinion. It was building and building and building, and then it just, bang, it was terrible. I also thought that there was going to be more romance between Snow White and the Huntsman but nothing really ever happened. There was also so many un-answered questions so hopefully there will be a sequel as there could be a follow-up movie to answer some questions and show the love between Snow White and the Huntsman.
I also disliked how they gave Kristen Stewart a fake British accent. She kept slipping in and out of it and I feel that that was a bad idea on the directors part.
Overall I believe that this is a good movie to see. Maybe not worth buying, but something to go and see once or twice at the movie theater or borrowing it from your local library.

But the best thing about what may be the most rousing and well-crafted superhero movie since The Dark Knight is not the boffo action scenes that culminate in a New York City-destroying finale that rivals Michael Bay’s obliteration of the Chicago skyline in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. No, the real appeal of The Avengers comes from the quiet moments among a group of decidedly unquiet humans, extra-humans, mutants, and demigods. In no particular order those are Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Bruce Banner/Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), S.H.I.E.L.D. world-government commander Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), and indispensable functionary Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg). That’s a superstar lineup both in and out of character, and The Avengersbrilliantly integrates the cast of ensemble egos into a story that snaps and crackles–not to mention smashes, trashes, and destroys–at breakneck pace, never sacrificing visual dazzle or hard-earned story dynamics. Writer-director Joss Whedon is no slouch when it comes to being a comic geek and he handles the heavy duty reins with efficient panache. The effects are of course spectacular. They include a monstrous flying aircraft carrier that is home base to S.H.I.E.L.D. and Nick Fury’s Avenger Initiative; Tony Stark’s gleaming skyscraper in midtown Manhattan; off-world scenes of malignant evil; as well as blindingly apocalyptic fights and the above-mentioned showdown that leaves New York a virtual ruin. Yet it’s the deeply personal conversations and confrontations among the very reluctant team of Avengers that makes the movie pop. Full of humor, snappy dialogue, and little asides that include inside jokes, eye rolls, and personal grudge matches, the script makes these superhumans real beings with sincere passion or feelings of disillusionment. The conviction of the actors as they fully commit to their clever lines gives credibility to what comes off as more than simple banter, even during the more incredible moments among them (of which are many). The plot involves the appearance of Loki, disgraced villain and brother of Thor, who was also a key player in his eponymous movie. Loki has come to Earth to retrieve the Tesseract, a blue-glowing energy cube that is valuable beyond compare to forces good and evil throughout the universe. As Loki, Tom Hiddleston is supremely, yea gloriously appealing as the brilliantly wicked regal charmer who captures minds from S.H.I.E.L.D. and attempts to conquer Earth with the hideous army at his command. To say he is foiled is an understatement. His face-off with the Hulk is one of the giddiest moments in a movie filled with lightheaded mayhem, and is a perfect example of Whedon’s throwaway approach to translating the mythic mystique of the Marvel comics universe. Though at times deadly serious (as deadly serious as an outrageous superhero destructo/fight-fest movie can be, that is), The Avengers is best when it lightens up and lets the fun fly alongside the powerhouse punches. By the way, a single blink-and-you’ll-miss-it powerhouse punch is another moment that makes Hulk the most loveable underdog of a smashing green rage monster ever. That spirit of fun and pure adventure makes The Avengers the greatest kind of escapist Hollywood fantasy $250 million can buy. A blockbuster in the most literal sense.

I was excited for this movie was soon as it was announced as I had just finished the movie Thor and I was ready to find out what happened next. So I was so pumped for this movie (also because I love Chris Hemsworth) and could not wait for it to come out. So I decided to go on opening weekend. I was lucky to get the movie showing which I wanted to go to as the movie theatre was beyond full. There was almost standing room only.
But the lights dimmed, the final trailers ended, and the beginning of the movie started. I was beyond excited.
Then the movie started. From the beginning until the end there was nothing but action. But not blood or anything like that – it was all comic violence. But it was extremely exciting.
The Marvel character’s in this movie were Hawkeye, Black Widow, Iron Man, The Hulk, Thor, and Loki. I have to say, the actors which they got to play each character were incredibly believable to be able to be these super heroes. The movie overall did an amazing job portraying these Super Hero’s and them saving the world from evil
I was also extremely impressed with the graphics in this. As you can tell from all of the trailers, there was a lot of city destruction and it was all computer graphics (obviously.) Also an interesting fact was the fly over of the military planes which you see were actually computer generated as the government would not do a military fly over as they did not support the idea of S.H.I.E.L.D and its role in the movie. The government has done flyovers in many movies like Transformers, and upcoming Battleship (which I am also excited for), but they said no to this one (phooey ). But don’t worry, with the amazing technology which we have now, it did not affect the movie one bit.
The story line was definitely entertaining. It would definitely help though if the viewer has previously seen Thor as it explains what is happening, and Captain America. I had only seen Thor but it was still understandable. It was just that they made some references to the other movies so it would have been good to see the other ones too.
You walk into this movie thinking that all it was, was going to be action. But actually there was a lot of humor in it. I was laughing so much watching this movie as it did have some funny parts, well actually hilarious parts.
So overall this was a very impressive movie, acting and graphics wise. It tied all of the Marvel characters together and I believe that this is going to be one of the biggest movies of all time – if it is not already. On the rate it is going, it probably will or has already passed Titanic (sorry James.)
So I really hope that you all enjoy this movie. Tell me what you thought of it and what you disliked. I personally could not find anything bad about this movie, and it may be my all time favorite movie right now.

Review
This was quite a strange movie. It was a mix of Transformers, G.I. Joe, John Wayne Westerns, Indiana Jones, and many other movies put together. If you just mash up some of your favorite sci-fi, action, romance movies, then you get Cowboys and Aliens. Don’t get me wrong, it was done very well and the settings were great, and the way they created the story line was very creative, but it was quite predictable. There were a few parts which made you jump and there were a few parts which you did not expect, but most of it was something you have probably seen in some other movie.
The acting in the movie was really good and what added to it was the fact that they had great actors. Anything which has Harrison Ford and/or Daniel Craig in it is going to be great.
I definitely would recommend this movie but it is for a more mature audience. I would say ok for 15 or 16 year old. No one under that age should see it because there is some bad language, shooting, creepy aliens, and some sensuality. Otherwise this was a very good movie. I would give it 4 out of 5 stars.

Review
There was so much happening all of the time during this movie. This movie was telling the story of the X-Men before they were The X-Men. It followed them from where they started off and how they came to be the X-Men and the process of them training to save the world from Sebastian Shaw.
The movie was a little confusing and at few points and I lost what was going on but you could quickly figure out what you missed. This may have been due to the fact that I have not seen any of the previous X-Men movies (something which I plan to change soon.) But the C.G.I’s in this movie were done very well.
And some of the costumes/makeup which was done was quite impressive.
The movie was set in the past and starts off with showing Erik Lehnsherr, later named Magneto, while he was a child. He was separated from his parents in a Nazi camp and it showed him getting angry and using his power. That was how the movie opened up. It got you intrigued and you wanted to watch some more.
This movie, I would say, would be for ages 14/15+ because there was quite a lot of violence. Especially in a scene were Sebastian Shaw broke into the mutants hideout and killed every single security guard and it was kind of creepy, especially when it is raining bodies – literally.
But otherwise this movie was still really good. I liked how in some of the scenes, when it was showing the past, they filmed in a different color. They filmed in a black/white/sepia color so it made it look older which was a really nice effect.
It was an enjoyable movie and I do recommend it, so I hope that you enjoy.

WOWOWOWOWOWOW. OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG.
BEST. MOVIE. EVER.
As you can tell I am extremely excited and absolutely loved this movie. It had action, it has myth, it had romance, it had a really hunky actor playing Thor, and a great woman playing Jane.
This movies graphics were great and so colorful and bright.
The story line in this movie was also really intriguing. Thor was cast out of Asguard, his home world, because he defied his father. He was sent to Earth where Jane, played by Natalie Portman, hit him with a car. Jane studied stars and anomalies which happened in the universe and she found Thor, who she did not know was “Thor”, who had come out of some anomaly. The story then follows the journey between the two worlds and how they collide. It follows Jane and Thor and how Jane tries to get Thor home but falls in love with him in the process.
I was excited for this movie to start with but I was curious to see how they were going to do an entire movie on Thor and I have to say that they did it exceptionally well. It kept you interested and just entertained. It ended like there was going to be another one and there had better be another one because it ended like a cliff hanger and I have to know what happens next.
This is a definitely a must watch even if you don’t like this type of thing because you may be surprised to find out you do.
So go and check this one out from your library.

Battle: Los Angeles is a war movie first, science fiction second. It’s got it all: a burned-out retiring sergeant who gets drawn back in because, dammit, the Marines need him; the guy who’s about to get married; the guy who’s still a virgin; the guy suffering from shell shock and who just might crack; the newbie officer with a lot of book learning who you just know is going to freeze under pressure and have to be shepherded by that burned-out sergeant, who learned his lessons on the battlefield… and so much more. There’s not a moment in this movie you haven’t seen before–the only twist is that the enemy is alien, so whatever shred of concern you might have for raining heavy artillery on a fellow human being can be cheerfully cast aside. But clichés are clichés because they are efficient and effective, and despite the profound familiarity of Battle: Los Angeles, there’s no denying the movie rips along (though two-thirds of the way through you may have forgotten who was the virgin and who was the shell-shocked guy–but really, does it matter?). The look owes a debt toDistrict 9, a hand-held, vérité grittiness, with most of the CGI carefully given a dingy, dirty look so that it meshes with the urban landscape. Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight) does an impressive job of spitting out ham-fisted dialogue like he really, really means it, while the rest of the cast is suitably generic. This is an unrepentant love letter to the military; many viewers, faced with the unsettling chaos and moral ambiguities of real wars, will find this mythologizing not only soothing, but even moving.

Wow. Just Wow. This movie was done so well. I am one for some violence but there is a limit to it. I cannot watch gruesome movies with blood and guts (like Saw) and I am not one for those really creepy movies (like Alien). I was not initially interested in this movie but my mom had gone to the theatre to see this movie the day it came out. She never really does that, especially for a battle/alien movie. She was raving about it and I was like ‘yeah yeah, probably another one of those stupid battle movies – there are already enough of those.’ But then my mom got my father to order the movie. The day that it arrived was the day that it was watched. I really was not interested because I had seen Independence Day and I had a feeling that it was going to be like that. It was kind of similar in a few aspects but mostly I was wrong. This movie was amazing!!!!! It is in like my top 10 (along with Matrix – review coming soon.)
Yeah there was a lot of violence and there was an extremely high body count, but this was not blood and guts. There was some blood but nothing too bad. There were a part where they had to dissect an alien and that was a little gross but otherwise this movie was really well done. It seems to have a mix of Transformers, Alien, Independence Day in it.
But I have to say this. I am going to use Transformers as my comparison movie as many people have seen it. In Transformers the army people acted all valiantly and acted as if they did this by regular routine. You only got a few glimpses of some people being afraid. This movie is the complete opposite. It was like a documentary in the sense that you really saw the fear in these soldiers as they were doing their duty. You saw that they really did not want to go out and face the enemy but they knew that they had to as they were the only people who could do it. Then at one time they had a lot of pressure on them and you saw that they were afraid but you saw the determination in their eyes and you saw that they had to do it.
This movie was quite sad in a few parts because how some of the people died. These people, these soldiers, gave up their lives to save civilians. Took bullets (or blast rays or whatever the guns were that the aliens used) for civilians as it was their duty.
I also have to say that the trailer is deceiving. It looks like it was going to be filmed in “shaky cam” but it really was not. There was a few moments in the beginning but then it really was filmed normally and anything that was kind of shaky was not noticeable. If anything, it added to the effect of the movie.
This movie was really amazing. The filmography was done extremely well. The graphics were done extremely well too. This movie did have quite a lot of graphic (not in the Transformers sense) as they did have to make many building be destroyed and they did have to have theses ships of the aliens.
This is a movie for older teens. I recommend this movie for 14 year olds and up as it is too violent for people younger. I say that guys would definitely love this movie because there was so many different types of guns. Rocket launchers, machine guns, sub machine guns, hand grenades, C4 (not a gun but it makes a “BOOM”). Don’t know if these are what they are called but just throwing some names out there (not a gun expert)

“Despite super effects, a huge budget, and the cinematic pedigree of alien-happy Steven Spielberg, this take on H.G. Wells’s novel is basically a horror film packaged as a sci-fi thrill ride. Instead of a mad slasher, however, Spielberg (along with writers Josh Friedman & David Koepp) utilizes aliens hell-bent on quickly destroying humanity, and the terrifying results that prey upon adult fears, especially in the post-9/11 world. The realistic results could be a new genre, the grim popcorn thriller; often you feel like you’re watching Schindler’s List more than Spielberg’s other thrill-machine movies (Jaws, Jurassic Park). The film opens and closes with narration from the novel read by Morgan Freeman, but Spielberg could have adapted Orson Welles’s words from the famous Halloween Eve 1938 radio broadcast: “We couldn’t soap all your windows and steal all your garden gates by tomorrow night, so we did the best next thing: we annihilated the world.”

This movie was really good but pretty creepy. There was a lot of blood in this movie. I don’t mean blood like people got decapitated but the creatures machines would suck the blood out of you and then later you would see the machines expel large amounts of blood and there would be pools of blood all over the place. Quite disconcerting and quite creepy too. If your don’t like this type of thing, this movie may not be suited for you.
There was no good role modeling in this movie. Ray Ferrier was a very irresponsible dad. In the beginning he called his son all types of things. As the movie progressed he seemed to change and be more responsible because he realized if he did not buck up his ideas when he was going to die, along with his children and I don’t think he wanted that.
The acting in this movie was done really well. Dakota Fanning and Justin Chatwin both played the annoying and non-listening children. I got so annoyed with the children and the dad because the dad did nothing to make the children to shut up. But it probably portrayed a typical American family .
This movie was filmed with a kind of tinge. I am not sure what the tinge was but it seemed to be a metallic, green, gray tinge to it which added to this surreal effect. It was quit an interesting idea because then it put everything kind of not in the present. It was showing that it was set a few years back.
Also the aliens were pretty creepy and the machines were creepy too. They were really big and they had these like tractor beams which disintegrated your body and pulled it up to the machine but left your clothes behind and Ray was eventually covered in body bits even though it was never explicitly mentioned, you got the idea. I am actually not sure if the beam pulled you up or just disintegrated you on the spot But don’t really want to know.
I think that this movie was done really well and is a definite see, but I recommend to be over the age of 14/15 because it was pretty creepy.
It was exciting though and definitely a classic which everyone should see at least once. I will be reading the book really soon and watching the original War of the Worlds which I am excited about.
